I’m delighted to be contributing to HagParty.ie on a monthly basis. I will be giving my opinion on all things fashion and beauty for all you future grooms! Being a future groom myself, these posts give me an opportunity to widen my knowledge of all things wedding related from the groom’s point of view. For my first post, I am going to start with a post about groomsmen gifts. Seeing as it is the time of year for giving gifts, I thought it was an appropriate way to start.
Now, I won’t lie when my fiancé and I started discussing all things regarding the bridal party I actually didn’t know about groomsmen gifts! You can imagine how mortified I was then! When I thought about it afterwards, I realised that it is a great way to say thanks to your close family and friends, who are standing by you on your special day. They will be there through all the stressful times, the fittings, the hen/stag parties and helping you throughout the final preparations before the big day itself.
Now the usual groomsman gifts would be a watch with an engraving of your choosing, something quirky like a hip flask or cuff links. While these gifts usually go down a treat, I have a slightly different idea which would be personal and it could help with the finishing touches to your outfits.
Bachelors Box, is a Dublin-based start-up company which offers a subscription service that deliver a box to your door each month filled with men’s accessories and grooming products starting from €35 a month.
They have a specialised section where you can fill your details about your bridal party. Questions like how many groomsmen you have? How much you want to spend on each box? What would you like it filled with? Etc. All the essential info basically to make it as personal as possible. This is fantastic as you can let them know things like your colour scheme, what items you would like, to make sure each box is compatible to each groomsman. I have some products from Bachelors Box myself and I must say that the quality is top notch. They provide silk pocket squares at the same price as their high street competitors. I can honestly say that you will not find a silk pocket square for €20 on the high street. Please let me know if I am wrong! What I love about the pocket square collection is that they are all named after characters from the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love which stars Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone & Steve Carrell. Each one also has a back story as to why it was called after that character. Take a look at some of the pocket squares they have to offer.
They also have a great selection of ties to add to your gift box. While most of the collection are knitted ties, they have recently added some fine silk ties to their collection. There is hopefully something to suit everyone’s taste and possibly their colour scheme. Here are some of the fine ties they have available at present.
They also have items such as lapel pins, cuff links, socks, bow ties etc which can be added to the gift box. If you wish to order something different from what is available then don’t hesitate to let the guys at Bachelors Box know and I am sure they will do their best they can to accommodate your request.
I hope you guys have enjoyed my first post and let me know what you think of my gift ideas. Perhaps steer your groomsmen over to The Wedding Speech Guys post on delivering the ultimate best man speech – they will thank you later
